Root canal therapy enables our patients to retain a tooth that has suffered serious damage perhaps from a sports-related injury or a deep cavity. When the inner soft tissue or nerve has been invaded by bacteria, a root canal saves the tooth by removing the soft tissue and replacing it with sterile material.
While some people are apprehensive about root canals, we take our time with each patient and let them tell us when they need a break. We carefully ensure the area to be treated is fully numbed and otherwise care for the patient’s comfort.
For a tooth that has had root canal therapy, we recommend a crown to protect it. We provide both same-day crowns as well as traditional crowns.
